What this site does.
My Keyboard Tester provides browser-based tools for checking key detection, latency, rollover, and repeated input. The tools are designed to show what your browser receives from a keyboard connected to your device.
This notice describes the product as it operates in this release. It focuses on the information handled by the tester itself and the choices you make when you contact the project.
What stays in your browser.
Keyboard events, pressed-key state, timing samples, rollover combinations, and chatter history are processed in the page. They are not uploaded, attached to an account, or sent to a server by the tester.
- Test sessions. Current results exist in the tab's memory and disappear when you reset the tool or leave the page.
- Theme preferences. The site may use browser local storage to remember display-theme choices. Those preferences stay on your device and are not sent to this site.
- No required account. You can use the tools without registering, signing in, or providing a profile.
Traffic measurement.
No analytics or advertising service is active in this release. The current site does not add a traffic-measurement script to these pages.
A future release may add Google Analytics only to display aggregate website-traffic information. That future work is separate from the tester: it must not collect keyboard events, test results, or individual user profiles. This notice will be updated before that change with the actual provider, data collected, storage or cookie behavior, retention details, and available controls.
When you contact us.
The site does not include a submission form. If you choose to contact the project, your email application and email provider will handle the message you send. Please avoid including passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information.
For privacy questions, use the Contact page or email [email protected].
Changes to this notice.
The site may update this page when its data practices or features change. The date at the top indicates when this version was last reviewed. Material changes, including a future traffic-measurement integration, should be reflected here before the related feature is released.
